Pamela Buck is an Associate Professor of English at Sacred Heart University, specializing in eighteenth- and nineteenth-century British literature. Her research investigates material culture, empire, and women’s writing within global and transnational networks. She is the author of Objects of Liberty: British Women Writers and Revolutionary Souvenirs (University of Delaware Press, 2024), which examines how women writers utilized the material object of the souvenir to circulate political ideas during the French Revolution and Napoleonic era. Her recent essays appear in The Cambridge History of Victorian Women’s Writing and Austen in Asia, as well as the journals LIT and European Romantic Review.
She teaches courses across the Romantic and Victorian periods and foundational core literature. In the classroom, she incorporates decolonial pedagogy and digital humanities projects, such as her digital recovery initiative “Women in the World,” to bring nineteenth-century literature to life. Active in professional governance, she served on the Board of the British Women Writers Association, and she regularly presents at conferences hosted by major international scholarly organizations including the MLA, NASSR, and the Society for Global Nineteenth-Century Studies.
